The first responsibility of every professional, from whom
you might request services, is to protect
your shareholders and you, from yourself.
A consultant, who eagerly provides just the service that
you request and does not consider what you really need,
is doing you a serious disservice. Customers
always know well the highly undesirable symptoms that
they observe, within their organizations. But,
they almost never know the causes of the undesirable
symptoms, and just as rarely do they know how to
eliminate those causes. Therefore, at times the probability
is somewhat low, that a customer's requested service is in
the best interest of the customer. |

Today, the profitability of many companies depends on
the speed and effectiveness with which these companies
complete their product-development projects, their
so-called IT projects, or the engineering-services
projects of their clients. These companies
regularly exhibit a number of extremely undesirable
symptoms, which many consultants attempt to treat with a
variety of services. The undesirable symptoms include the
following:
- Projects that take entirely too long and,
consequently, become far too costly.
- Productivity that doesn't budge beyond
unacceptably low levels.
- Revenue-projections that often are not realized.
- Requests, for additional staff, which seem to appear
continually and from all quarters.
- Opportunities that should be pursued but instead are
lost.
There is but only one underlying cause of all these
symptoms, and there is one comprehensive solution,
which removes the cause and eliminates all the symptoms.
PDI is all about helping you understand, both, the one
cause and the
solution. |
